Biodanza aims to renovate a connection with our full genetic potential – including the expression of our identity. This identity is the very sense of who we are, in a moment in time. It is a beautifully complex revelation of our self esteem which includes how we treat and feel about ourselves, how we see ourselves in the world in relation to others, and how much we trust ourselves to DO in the world what we really want to do.
Our behaviours in life mirror our perception of self, shaping the nature of our relationships and possible future actions available to us.
Rolando Toro, the founder of the Biodanza system, emphasised the importance of self-esteem and identity in human development and well-being. He believed that self-esteem and identity are closely intertwined and are crucial for a person’s overall health and happiness. Through movement and group interaction, we might recognise our inherent value, appreciate our worth, and grow in confidence to express our fullest potential.
Since life is so much richer with shared experiences, together we will explore qualities of identity and self esteem as a pathway to experiences in life more aligned to our authentic nature.
