Tanurajani
Tanurajni (formerly Emma Louise) is a singer/ songwriter from the Northern Rivers.
Her journey with music began as a way of expression as a teenager she picked up her dads guitar and would write songs by ear. As the years passed she developed her craft as a songwriter by attending workshops and playing many gigs around Sydney. In her early 20’s she graduated from the Australian institute of music with a bachelor degree in Music production and composition. After recording 2 studio albums having airplay on triple j and community radio, touring the country she felt so beaten by the music industry that she decided to take a break. “My voice was never pitch perfect, and I was constantly put down by people” so I just stopped singing. This caused sort of a downturn but 3 years later Tanu was reintroduced to singing again through a yoga retreat singing kirtan. Devotional singing helped me find my voice again and express my love and creativity through my voice.
I began to take harmonium lessons and that reignited the knowledge of music theory from my uni degree. I then began training with Voice activation coach Paulina Magus in Ubud and I’m now studying the healing benefits of chanting and singing has on the nervous system, focusing on polyvagal theory.
I have a Bachelor degree in music composition, 300 hr yoga teacher training and experienced in holding workshops and space for people to comfortably journey through this healing work.
